This luscious tomato gravy with the cumin seeds tempering is such a comfort food for dinner, it's light , easy and healthy .
Recipe:
(Serves 4)
Ingredients:
- 4 small to medium carrots (peeled and cut into small squares)
- 1/2 cup green peas
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 tbsp red chili powder
- 1 tbsp coriander powder
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- Salt- according to taste
- 4-5 medium tomatoes ( puree )
- 3 tsp oil
- Coriander leaves
- Curry leaves 4-5
Method:
- Put oil in a cooker, add cumin seeds let it turn color, put tomatoes , dry masala (salt , coriander powder , chili powder and turmeric powder), carrot and peas , put everything together.
- Now cook till all the water dries up and the curry sticks a little to the bottom, this may take 5 min.
- Now put 1/2 glass water and close the lid, cook til 4-5 whistle.
- Open and check the gravy consistency and serve with hot chapatis .
