Punjabi Jeera Aloo is one of the easiest recipes to prepare, especially when there is a lack of time. It is a flavourful, delicious and irresistible dish of baby potatoes and cumin seeds. Here is how to make it at home.
Recipe:
(Serves 4)
Ingredients:
- 500 g Mini baby potatoes
- 2 tbsp Oil
- 2 tsp Cumin seeds
- 1 tsp Green chilli
- 1 tsp red chilli powder
- 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
- 2 tsp Dry mango powder( Amchur )
- 1 tbsp coriander powder
- 1 tsp garam masala powder
- 1 tsp asafoetida (Hing )
- 2 tsp salt
- Few curry leaves
- Boil the baby potatoes in a pressure cooker for 2 whistles.
- Then peel and keep aside.
- Now in a pan , put oil and add jeera along with hing.
- Once jeera splutters ,add green chilli and curry leaves.
- Now add the peeled potatoes.
- Cover for 3-4 min and cook on low flame.
- Now add the dry spices (haldi , red chilli , salt , coriander powder, amchur and garam masala)
- Mix and cover for 3-4 min on low flame
- Mix once in between, it will be a little crispy on the outside while soft inside.
- Now its ready to serve.
